Day 1
FASTING INSPIRATION:
Prayer is the lifestyle of those who are born of the Spirit Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’ but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’ –Matthew 21:12
Jesus was upset with what His temple had become. Its attention had been distorted and perverted. Its emphasis had strayed from prayer and intercession to worthless religious behavior. What about us and our day? Are we focused on the spirit realm, focused on the calling of prayer?
We have become the house of the Lord. As such we have been created for prayer and prayer for the nations. We have been created in Christ to bring the hearts cry of the Lord to the throne of Father that He might put all the enemies of Jesus under His feet. During the Daniel Fast one of our objectives is to embrace a routine of fervent prayer. Fervent meaning; not timid, nor convenient prayer, nor passive prayer. We will throw fire on our prayer altar through intentional time spent in worship, praise, petition, and proclamation. This is your DNA, just as sure as it is the… DNA of Jesus. As you press in and set aside the distractions of this life behind, you’ll discover more and more how much peace and life there is in the place of prayer. Prayer for the nations is an extension of the compassion of Father demonstrated through Jesus.
PRAYER EMPHASIS:
Today choose one nation, other than the US, that you will bring before the Lord during the fast, praying for their salvation, conversion, and transformation. Direct prayer over this nation each day during the fast, bringing them before the Lord and dismiss the demonic power that has deceived them.
