FASTING INSPIRATION
Fasting has often been used for the reformation of government
As a corporate focus we want to target a portion of our prayers during the fast on government, even specifically, on the government of the United States. The Bible instructs us to continually pray for our leaders and declares that every government is called to rest on the shoulders of Jesus.
For a Child will be born to us, a Son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. – Isaiah 9:6
“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.” –1 Timothy 2:1-2
When we lift up our leaders here in the United States, we can expect God’s peace in our lives and in our nation.
PRAYER EMPHASIS:
Choose a specific time to make proclamations over the Judicial, Representative, and Executive branches of our state and our federal government.
Pray for the Executive branch to be convicted and constrained by the Holy Spirit to do the will of God and to be brought to a place of prayer and humility. Pray for the fear of the Lord to return to the Supreme Court justices (Judicial branch), for them to be protected from threat and bribe. Pray for our Senators and Representatives (Legislative branch) to lead according to the Word of God.
Example prayer:
Lord, we declare that you are restoring godliness in government. We declare the government established on the shoulders of Jesus. Where godlessness has infiltrated our law and government, we declare this is reversed. Restore the righteous to the places of government. Brood over and hover over your Church, and once again call us into serving in all branches of government and law. Bless and establish apostolic leaders who cover and coach those who are called to serve in government and law.
STRATEGIZE – FOCUS MY MIND:
Today we continue with renewing our mind from the book of Acts. Read Acts 19-20. Take notes as you read the book of Acts, looking for points that strengthen your faith.
