“Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, and He shall hear my voice.” — Psalm 55:17
I think we could all admit that we could pray more. But we are so busy!!! Too busy for serious, thought-provoking, contemplative, powerful prayer. We are probably much busier than Daniel or those folks in the Bible, LOL! Really? Is it busy—or distracted?
Remember, Daniel was an entrepreneur, economic adviser, and government overseer. I would venture to say Daniel had a very busy and demanding life (and boss). Yet Daniel consecrated (sanctified) each portion of his day with prayer.
Daniel 6:10
…Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.
I want to suggest that we fill too much of our time—time that could be used for prayer—with white noise: FM, AM, and XM. The white noise of other things, unnecessary things. Think about how powerful you are when you pray so you won’t let powerful moments of divine interruption be stolen.
You are the instrument of divine interruption. When you pray, angels are dispatched, demons are routed, heaven opens, the earth rejoices, and things change. Don’t leave it to chance—make it the priority.
Psalm 55:16–18
As for me, I call to God, and the Lord saves me.
Evening, morning, and noon, I cry out in distress, and He hears my voice.
He rescues me unharmed from the battle waged against me, even though many oppose me.
