REFORMATION IN THE NATIONS

“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” — John 15:7

God is rearranging the tops of the mountains. God is at work to dismiss the wicked from their places of power in the mountains of culture. For some time, I’ve been declaring that this is a day like the day of Nebuchadnezzar, when he was removed from office and sent out to eat grass until he repented.

Daniel 4:24–27
“This is the interpretation, Your Majesty, and this is the decree the Most High has issued against my lord the king: You will be driven away from people and will live with the wild animals; you will eat grass like the ox and be drenched with the dew of heaven. Seven times will pass by for you until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone He wishes. The command to leave the stump of the tree with its roots means that your kingdom will be restored to you when you acknowledge that Heaven rules. Therefore, Your Majesty, be pleased to accept my advice: Renounce your sins by doing what is right, and your wickedness by being kind to the oppressed. It may be that then your prosperity will continue.”

We are seeing these very things come to pass all over the globe in a similar pattern to what we see with Daniel. We work with the Father in this reformation of culture by coming into agreement with His rightful Lordship over all of culture.

To accomplish this partnership with Jesus, we should make an adjustment and begin to see ourselves praying from heaven, not praying to heaven. From heaven, we prophesy. From heaven, we proclaim. From heaven, we enforce the Lordship of Jesus over demonic power.

We gather this understanding from Ephesians 1:19–23, where Paul tells us that we have been brought into His Lordship. This means we act as deputies, ambassadors, and delegates of Jesus. He will back up our proclamations with great power.

We understand this activity of authority when it comes to demonic presence on a personal level. When we encounter such things, we command them to go. We are called and enabled to do the same on a macro scale over our culture, using the name of the Lord to dismiss the enemy.

I do want to clarify: I do not mean that we never ask God for anything. I am not saying that we should never petition the Father for insight, wisdom, strength, or boldness. This aspect of being a “deputy” does not remove the other valid aspects of prayer, such as intercession, petition, confession, repentance, and worship. There are many valid expressions of prayer, and we need to engage in all of them.

What I am saying is that sometimes we are petitioning the Father for things we are actually supposed to take authority over. When we stand in the authority of Jesus—the rightful Lord of the earth—we will see great victories all around us.

How does this theology inspire you?

What can you do to push forward the Lordship of Jesus?

What can you do to stifle the influence of the demonic realm in culture?
